Sitío Sabiá Residency

Rest. Reconnect. Root Down.

Welcome to Sitío Sabiá—a rural sanctuary in Bahia, Brazil offering space for artists, healers, culture bearers, and change-makers to pause, breathe, and reweave their connection to land, spirit, and community.

Set among fruit trees and ancestral rhythms, our residency supports those living into new/old ways of being in the world.

This is not a retreat center. This is home.

What We Offer

The Sitío Sabiá Residency provides short stays (up to 3 weeks) for individuals or pairs who are creating change through art, healing, organizing, education, or cultural work. Whether you come to rest, to create, or simply to listen—our doors are open.

You’ll stay on our working family farm, home to Asé Bahia, our annual cultural gathering. Residency includes:

  • A private room (1–2 people max)

  • Shared kitchen and open-air living spaces

  • Access to farm, gardens, and outdoor gathering areas

  • Opportunities for connection with local community

How we live

Sitío Sabiá is rooted in respect—for land, people, and legacy. We ask all guests to show up with humility, curiosity, and care.

This means:

  • Engage with Bahia’s vibrant Afro-Brazilian culture with reverence

  • Participate in maintaining the space (cleaning, compost, etc.)

  • Treat our home, family, neighbors, and land as sacred

You’re not just staying here—you’re joining a living ecosystem.

Frequently Asked Questions

A cozy, private room with access to a shared open-air kitchen, farm, and shared bathrooms.

Yes—slow, rural, and best for unplugging.

Some rooms have AC's, others just natural breezes and fans. We can connect you with local laundry services.

Why We Created This

We built Sitío Sabiá from our love of Bahia, our ancestors, and the belief that liberation requires rest, reflection, and reconnection. As cultural producers and community builders, we know the weight of always doing—and the power of simply being.

This residency is an offering. A breath. A place to plant seeds.
